PRESENT PERFECT TENSE

(Теперішній завершений час)

Означає, що дія щойно відбулася. Вона пов’язана з теперішнім часом і є результат виконання дії.

Маркери: already – вже, never – ніколи, ever –коли-небудь, just – щойно, not … yet – ще не.

Форма речення.	Третя особа однини: She, he, it has V ed/III form	Перша, друга особи однини та всі особи множини: I, we, you, they have V ed/III form
Ствердження.	He has played  football. She has written the letter.	I have written the letter. We have played  football.
Заперечення.	He has not played  football. She has not written the letter.	I have not written the letter. We have not played  football.
Питання.	Has he played  football? Has she written the letter?	Have I written the letter? Have we played  football?

Types of questions	Третя особа однини: She, he, it has V ed/III form	Перша, друга особи однини та всі особи множини: I, we, you, they have V ed/III form

 Travelling by ship

1. Thousands of people travel every day on business or for pleasure.

2. They can travel by air, by land or by water.

3. Of course, travelling by air is the fastest and the most convenient way, but it is the most expensive too.

4. Travelling by sea is popular mostly for pleasure trips.

5. On board large ships and small river boats people can visit foreign countries and different places of interest.

6. Trips on the Dnieper and the Black Sea are very popular nowadays.

7. To my mind, travelling by sea is comfortable and speedy.

8. Of course, modern liners are not the same as planes, but they go rather fast.

9. They are like floating cities with all modern conveniences and facilities.

10. The important thing is that big liners are rather safe.

11. No matter what the weather is like. Be it stormy or calm, you feel comfortable and safe on board.

12. Unfortunately some people have seasickness. By the way, it’s one of the drawbacks of travelling by sea.

13. People, who prefer this kind of travelling, get the opportunity to live in comfortable cabins, to swim and sunbathe on board, to use a wide choice of sport and entertainment facilities.

14. Passengers of liners don’t have to worry about meals. They are served regularly in restaurants.

15. In other words, travelling by sea can bring many pleasant moments only if you are not seasick.

Travelling by plane

1. It is very interesting to travel.

2. You can see other countries, continents; you get acquainted with other people, their traditions and customs.

3. Travelling by train is usually chosen by people who have enough time to get from one place to another.

4. Travelling by air usually preferred by people who haven’t got much time and want to get to another city, country or continent as quickly as possible.

5. In my opinion, travelling by plane is the best way of travelling.

6. It is the fastest, the most comfortable and convenient.

7. I like it very much.

8. Of course, there are some advantages and disadvantages.

9. First, I would like to tell you why I like it. It is very nice to be on a plane.

10. You can sit looking through the window or reading a book, or watching an interesting film on the portable DVD player.

11. Stewardesses serve snacks and drinks.

12. Some people suffer from airsickness.

13. Others think about air-crashes or hijackers. And planes make then nervous.

Youth subcultures

Young people have a particular relationship with the world. There are many groups (subcultures) that have interests different from those of the main stream culture. A particular cultural grouping is a way for young people to express their individuality (identity). By the mid-60s teenagers had begun to form distinct cultural groups. Most young people in Britain follow some kind of youth culture: rocker, hacker, raver, skinhead, hippies, Goth, punk...Why do teens choose a subculture?
