In October 2017 Bashtanka gymnasium participated in the national project
“GoCamp AfterSchool” organized by the international organization “GoGlobal”
which promotes volunteers movement in Ukraine in order to achieve high level of
teaching of foreign languages and form a new generation of Ukrainians.
The motto of this programme – “If you want to change the world, inspire
a kid!” Due to specially developed GoCamp project I have a good opportunity to
teach my pupils together with a volunteer from Nigeria Albert Ajose for three
weeks (19.03.18 – 06.04.18). We developed an interactive programme that helps my
schoolchildren to overcome the language barrier, learn more about other
cultures and everyday life in different countries, as well as try to implement the
social project that will have an impact on the local community. By the way,
pupils from Bashtanka gymnasium will be able to attend interesting and funny
lessons, take part in a great school event “Ukrainian Vechornytsi” and
participate in different competitions and excursions.
The first week passed successfully. Albert’s arrival gives my pupils access
to new opportunities for learning English that they hadn’t before. His lessons
were amasing and useful. My pupils were involved in different activities and
played a lot at the lessons. As for me I also have practiced some of Albert’s
games. Our volunteer is an energetic and creative person. He enriches my kids’
motivation to learn a foreign language and develops their abilities to speak it
more fluently. I also have a chance to practice my English with a native
speaker, too. It is cute! Thanks a lot to Albert Ajose and the GoCamp team!
